Today I realized I was letting my ex creep steadily back into my life. This attempt at "friendship" was just a guise. He has someone else and he wants me back in his life. I finally saw the snake creeping up on me, hopefully before I was bitten. So, I called him on it. It's done. I want him out of my life for good. No more friends. No more excuses to contact me. No more anything. Fred is a user. It's time I admitted that to myself. Let me say it again. Fred is a user. There. I feel better already.
I just wish I hadn't let him twist my heart around. But, I guess I had to give it one more try. I think I'm cured now! Let's hope so, because I don't need any more heart ache.
My book is coming along better too. I finally understood, thanks to Tony Dyer's comment that I just needed to give my character some internal struggle. Thanks Tony! It's working well. By the way I tried to reach you, but since you don't have a profile posted I was unable to. Help from a stranger is just what I needed tho.

An Ex's view
My ex has kept up with me on this story from start to finish. He finally read it and I think I got my best review ever from him.
Oh, baby I just finished reading your story, and I’m sorry I had wait so long to do it. It is a wonderful piece, and has grown and deepened in this longer version. If the draft was more plot-driven, this one is more character-centered and I get a much fuller portrait of Sarah. What a woman! Sexy, feisty, independent –yes, of course, but now I see more of her as a widow, a mother, and finally a grandmother. And she holds onto all this with full awareness of the social limitations of her time (that is pretty radical.) Thank you for writing it, for sharing it and for touching me once again. F

My sequel
The sequel to Sarah's Choice is giving me pause. I can't quite seem to come up with an ending I like. It's more challenging to me than the first book which seemed to flow like wine from a well aged bottle. But all writers encounter passages that challenge them. And who says I don't love a challenge?
It might be my personal life thats getting in the way. I'm still looking for that Mr. Right, but finding Mr. "no way in hell". Perhaps putting down the desire cup for awhile will make me thirst enough to finish my book.
I'll give it a try.
Be well all.
